Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon white sesame seeds, lightly toasted
100g cream cheese, softened
1 small shallot, finely diced
1 teaspoon soy sauce (optional, for added umami)
Toasted baguette slices or crackers, for serving
Instructions:
Prepare the Salmon Sashimi:
Cut the salmon sashimi into small pieces and set aside.
Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture:
In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with the finely diced shallot, chives, dill, lemon juice, lemon zest, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.
Mix Ingredients for Avocado Layer:
In a separate bowl, combine the diced avocado with a pinch of salt and the remaining lemon juice.
Layer the Tartare:
First Layer: Divide the avocado mixture evenly among 4 serving plates, using a ring mould to form a neat base layer.
Second Layer: Spoon the cream cheese mixture on top of the avocado layer, spreading it evenly.
Third Layer: Add the small pieces of salmon sashimi on top of the cream cheese layer, forming the final layer.
Garnish:
Carefully remove the ring mould. Place a thin slice of cucumber on top of each tartare and then add a spoonful of salmon caviar on top of the cucumber. Sprinkle with lightly toasted white sesame seeds. Add a few extra sprigs of dill or chives if desired.
Serve:
Serve the layered salmon sashimi tartare immediately with toasted baguette slices or crackers on the side.
